The healthcare industry has always been a prime target for cyberattacks due to the sensitive nature of the data it contains. In recent years, however, the number of attacks has increased exponentially as attackers have become more sophisticated and the industry has become more reliant on technology. The problem is only going to get worse as the Internet of Things (IoT) continues to grow.
Healthcare organizations need to prioritize a strategy focused on securing the user (the digital identity) and their credentials, not the environment. This is the only way to keep up with the ever-changing landscape of cyberattacks. Cyber insurance is essential for protecting against these attacks, but without a sound digital identity strategy in place, the likelihood of qualifying is low (if not impossible).
